If the child consumes more vegetables than anything else on their plate they will be eating fewer calories. Children should be educated about drinking plenty of water. The child should be educated on how to read labels on the food items that way they are selecting items to eat with few calories. The child should be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day and do something physically active all seven days of the week (Ward, D. S., Welker, E., Choate, A., Henderson, K. E., Lott, M., Tovar, A., Sallis, J. F., 2017). When the child is physically active this will limit their time to be looking at a screen. When a child is watching television or on their phone they are more than likely to get bored and want to just binge eat. The family can change their eating habits and become more physically active to reduce the risk of obtaining obesity.
